SuperDevSpace vs Claude Squad
Claude Squad is an open-source terminal app (AGPL-3.0) that manages several Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Aider and other agents, each in its own tmux session and git worktree. SuperDevSpace uses the same isolation idea in a desktop app, with a manager agent that plans and assigns the work.
| Aspect | SuperDevSpace | Claude Squad |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A desktop app with a board, chat and a real terminal per agent | "A terminal app that manages multiple Claude Code, Codex, Gemini (and other local agents including Aider) in separate workspaces" |
| Interface | Desktop window | Terminal UI, built on tmux |
| Agents | Claude Code (full), OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI, Aider, Qwen Code, Cursor CLI, and OpenCode (experimental) | Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Aider, OpenCode, Amp |
| Isolation | Own git worktree and terminal per worker | tmux session plus git worktree per agent |
| Planning layer | A manager agent opens a sprint, writes briefs and hires workers | Not described in its README; one session per task |
| Licence | Commercial subscription, 14-day free trial | Open source, AGPL-3.0 |
| Install | Installer for macOS, Windows, and Linux | Homebrew or an install script; needs tmux and the GitHub CLI |
